TOOLS AND ACCESSORIES POLICY
Effective Date: The warranty begins on the date of purchase or delivery, whichever is later.
1. GENERAL
We warrant our tools and accessories against manufacturing defects in line with applicable laws and this policy’s specific terms. Warranty durations vary based on the product type. All warranties are subject to the listed exclusions and exceptions.
Making a Warranty Claim
If you believe a product is defective:
- Return the Product: Visit one of our outlets with the product and original proof of purchase (POP).
- Validation Process: Our team, along with the supplier, will test the product to confirm the defect’s cause.
If the defect falls within the warranty period, we will choose to repair, replace, or refund the product. Note that replacement parts may need to be ordered.
2. SPECIFIC WARRANTY TERMS
AmPro Hand Tools
- Lifetime Warranty (Excludes ratchets, power bars, torque wrenches, geared wrenches, screwdrivers, pneumatic tools, and electrical tools).
- Exclusions: Fair wear and tear, misuse, improper maintenance, or use outside intended purposes.
Midas Professional Tools
- Lifetime Warranty for select tools, excluding:
- Ratchets: No lifetime warranty. Claims invalid if used outside intended purposes.
- Power Bars: Warranty claims may be denied if misuse (e.g., using pipes to extend leverage) is identified.
- Split Sockets: Claims invalid if used improperly, such as with pneumatic guns.
- Screwdrivers: Breakages due to misuse (e.g., using as a chisel) are excluded from warranty.
- Lifetime Warranty for select tools, excluding:
Pneumatic and Electrical Tools
- These are warranted in line with applicable legislation. Regular maintenance and servicing are essential to prevent defects.
Autogear Tools
- 6-Month Warranty against manufacturing defects. Claims must be within 6 months of the purchase date.
3. CLAIM PROCESS
- Verify Proof of Purchase (POP): Ensure the claim is within the warranty period.
- Review Exclusions: Verify if the claim is valid based on the exclusion list.
- Submit Claim Details: Provide POP, photos of the defect, and, if required, samples to Midas Swellendam or our Product Management Team.
Please Note: Warranty claims are subject to assessment. Approved claims may result in a repair, replacement, or refund. Unapproved claims will be returned to the customer.
